First, I must share how much I have learned since having my first consult with you in August - I had been stuck at a plateau on my weight loss, and was looking for help in the nutrition area.  The information that you shared about eating whole foods, the shopping experience learning how to read labels and pick out ripe fruits and vegetables has been fantastic and life changing.  For the first time in 6 months, I was able to get past my plateau and lost another 20 pounds for a total of 70 pounds.  At first I was resistent to all the cooking, as I had never really done much cooking beyond boiling pasta and adding sauce from a jar, but the recipes were simple, and actually started to enjoy the cooking process. 

 

Then, I went on the food cleanse after coming back from a vacation in Hawaii, and glad that I tried this.  I had a little low energy if I worked out the first few days.  But I was not hungry at all following the plan, and enjoyed the chicken soup - tasty!  I lost 7 pounds in 10 days, and only gained 2 back after stopping the cleanse.  I would highly recommend anyone that wants to get a fresh start with eating healthy, or feel like they are cleansing out their systems to try this.  I will be signing up again for the cleanse in the beginning of the year.

 

Wendy was always quick to provide feedback and shared so much valuable information that I really feel like I have turned a corner on my nutrition!  She not only helped with nutrition, but provided a well rounded lifestyle consultation with exercise and relaxation ideas too.

Hey Wendy,

I just wanted to say thanks again for the cooking lesson Monday. What we made has worked out great for me this week and everything was so easy to do, I think I am going to try doing this on a regular basis. Also, I got some coconut water, which after looking it up, seems like pretty awesome stuff. I'm surprised more people aren't familiar with it.

While attending a birthday happy hour last Saturday, I was told how good I looked and how much weight I've lost. As we know, it isn't just dieting, but your suggestions on taking Yoga/Pillates, how and when I eat, uiet/spiritual time, etc. have all helped!

Now for the best part:  My first opportunity to cook was yesterday afternoon.  The meatloaf was enjoyable to put together, cooked up just fine, and was tasty enough that I just finished having it for breakfast!  In other words:  WOW!  That is definitely NOT my mother's meatloaf.  This one is moist, colorful, with a mild sweet flavor provided by the peppers.  
With food like this prepared in the frig I can see where I will definitely enjoy a variety of breakfasts unimagined before.

Shopping was great! Whole foods is a little pricey ($377 bill today- ouch!) but worth it. Can't wait to try all the new food... my garbage is full with the old stuff. Feel bad throwing away good food in this economy but I don't think anyone wants a half bottle of BBQ sauce and ketchup.

Thanks again for all your great information. My bread is on the counter as we speak- just waiting to become bread crumbs!

Hi Wendy,

 

I’m still staying off the simple sugars and any others that I can avoid. The neat thing now is there is no desire for the sweets anymore. Have lost between 7 and 8 lbs just from cutting out the sugars and watching the trans-fats. The green drink is ok, but getting used to it and the cashew butter is good – taste good on celery or by itself. Haven’t cut out all the coffee, but have cut way back – that’s a start right?

Thanks for your time today.  I (we) really enjoyed it.  I went to the store today just to look at labels and was amazed at how many items have high fructose sugar.  I would have never guessed...or really discovered that I was looking in the wrong place.  Just knowing that will really help steer me toward the better things.

It was very nice meeting you too. I feel like I learned so much throughout our consultation and I am eager to revamp my eating habits and outlook on nutrition. This morning I ate whole milk yogurt with a drizzle of Agave and a sprinkle of Ezekiel granola. I also ate at a table, and drank water before and after. I don't have the urge to eat more, I feel very satisfied! I found that my gym offers pilates every morning for an hour, and I intend to attend at least once a week. I will continue to follow the rules and guidelines you have made for me, and I am feeling good about this change. Thank you so much!
